Education
Education is closely integrated with Dr. Sonja Pyott’s research activities. She has extensive experience in course and program development and administration, including the scientific training of Bachelor Medicine students, coordination of an MD/PhD preparatory program for talented Bachelor Medicine students, and serving as a past Coordinator and Member of the Board of Examiners for the Behavioral and Cognitive Neurosciences (BCN) Research Master’s Program—a highly ranked, research-focused master’s program. In addition, Sonja has developed a wide range of curricula and courses in neuroscience (including an interfaculty minor in Neuroscience), physiology, and biology. Sonja completed both the Dutch University Teaching Qualification (BKO/UTQ) and the prestigious Senior Teaching Qualification (SKO/STQ), which recognizes advanced teaching excellence and leadership in higher education.

Educational Resources
Sonja Pyott has also developed a number of educational resources for classroom instruction at the university level. These resources include lecture slides, study guides (including learning goals and content outlines), case studies, activities for active learning (even in large classrooms), and assessment materials. Course materials for cell biology (lecture and laboratory), biotechnology, neurobiology, and human anatomy and physiology are available.
